Warm Up:
20 Minutes of independent reading (This is week #38)
Mini-Lesson Topic:
Preparing to present infographic (tomorrow):
You will have ONE MINUTE to present your infographic!
What should I discuss when I present ??
  • How your text structure affected your decisions in creating your infographic
  • Favorite display ideas: Are you proud of a picture/graph/statistic design? Why?
  • Difficulties in research or organization/design
  • One new thing you learned about your topic
AVOID: Summarizing or reading all of the information you put on your infographic
Question(s) to guide learning:
How can I organize my infographic in order to make the information easy to read, key details stand out, and the pictures, charts, graphs, etc. visually appealing?
Work Time:
Today is a work day to continue working on your text structure assessment (which is the infographic).
How students will know they are successful:
I can research an environment-related topic for the purpose of creating an infographic.
Debrief:
Are you ready to present your infographic tomorrow?
Homework:
Finish your infographic so that you are ready to present tomorrow. (5th period will present on Wednesday.)
Independent reading (At least 30 minutes) EVERY day! Yes, even on the weekends!
