Warm Up: 
20 Minutes of independent reading (This is week #38)
Mini-Lesson Topic:
Introduction to the last unit of the year:  
Mini Living Museum: Individuals Overcoming Adversity. 
This is a research project with a five minute speech. 
Question(s) to guide learning:
How can I conduct short research projects to answer a question, drawing on several sources and refocusing the inquiry when appropriate? CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.6.7
How can I gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources; assess the credibility of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and providing basic bibliographic information for sources? CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.6.8

Work Time: 
Following the project introduction, we will be selecting a person who's overcome adversity and begin conducting research.

I can research a person who overcame adversity and is an inspiration to many.
I can participate in a mini living museum by presenting detailed information about someone who overcame adversity by giving a 5 minute speech.

Make sure that all missing assignments are completed and turned in.
All late, missing or revised assignments need to be turned in before May 14th. After that, they will not be accepted!
Independent reading (At least 30 minutes) EVERY day! Yes, even on the weekends!

Be prepared to turn in your reading list on May 20th!
