Unit 3: Authors as Mentors
Essential Questions:
How can I use feedback from peers to revise my writing?

Standard:
W.1.a Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective techniques, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences. (CCSS:W.6.3)

R.1.b.i Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the impact of a specific word choice on meaning and tone. (CCSS:RL.6.4)
I will know I’m successful when...
I can give "warm" and "cool" feedback to peers.

Steps for collaborating As Writers:

  2. Without the writer, discuss the warm & fuzzy feedback.

  4. Invite the writer in for clarifying questions.
  5. Writer makes final decision and revises.
  6. Choose new writer and repeat steps.
