Warm Up: 
20 Minutes of independent reading (This is week #27)

Write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence
Questions to guide learning:
How does organized planning guide the writing process?

Work Time: 

Write an argumentative essay to the prompt: Is the American criminal justice system fair?

How students will know they are successful:

Students will be able to write an argumentative essay that includes:
Introduction/Thesis
Claims with evidence, explanations and details
Counterclaims with rebuttals
Conclusion

Debrief: 
Turn in your essay (in Google Classroom) at the end of class!
Homework:
Independent reading (At least 30 minutes)
Update reading list
Complete and turn in any missing assignments.
